This recipe has a sweet lemon flavour, good with preserves and cheese. A tasty, quick bread for making on a lazy weekend afternoon.

2 cups white flour

2 cups whole wheat flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 and 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter

2 and 1/2 cups milk

1 to  2 tbsp lemon juice

Blend dry ingredients in large bowl, cut in butter. Combine milk and lemon juice and add to mixture. Stir and add white flour as required to make into a soft dough. Kneed briefly. Make into desired shape and place on buttered cookie sheet. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 375°. Cool and slice.
