Lost Lake, Whistler Mountain, clothing optional dock

Your first thought of Whistler Mountain is probably of fresh powder but there is plenty of summer fun to be had there too. The glacial covered peaks sport an array of crystal clear lakes to cool down in at their base. But after a day of riding or hiking the trails, there’s only one place where you can have the satisfaction of stripping right down before diving in, and that is at the clothing optional dock on Lost Lake.

Lost Lake is located near the Upper Village. There is a popular family oriented sandy beach, with washrooms, at one end. Facing the lake from this beach, take the trail on the right out to the dock. The narrow dock stretches out into deep blue-green water. It is a popular place to sunbathe nude, but be aware that evening brings the fisher folk and their fishing lines.

  1. I was wondering if Lost Lake still had its clothing optional status.

I had suspected that the new high end whistler crowd would have shut it down. It’s nice to hear it carries on.

I spent many a summer day there sans cloths cooling off in the chilly glacier fed waters.
